An unforgettable adventure, the most innovative school field trip experience in Dubai
20 February 2022
In October 2021 Infinity des Lumières, the region’s largest immersive digital art centre, launched the most innovative and fascinating school field trip experience in Dubai featuring infinite opportunities to inspire, engage and educate young minds. We invited educators to bring school groups for school field trips to Infinity des Lumières, to explore different perspectives, discover new worlds, and experience the future of art at the region’s largest immersive digital art centre, where art is brought to life as a mesmerizing, unforgettable, immersive experience. A thrilling field trip program that is immersive, engaging and inspirational! The Infinity des Lumières field trip is infinitely immersive because it places our young visitors, and their teachers, at the very centre of art, as they embark on an exciting multi-sensory journey through light, sight, sound and scent. The experience is infinitely engaging because it is specifically designed to activate all the senses, enhance creativity, stimulate critical thinking, spark innovative ideas and create new connections with and through art. Click here to download the brochure. The field trip is designated for all school and educational groups, pupils and students, age 4 and above. Group sizes vary, but the minimum number of pupils is 16, while the maximum size is determined by age, grade and by the current safety and security measures in place. As the largest immersive digital art centre in the region Infinity des Lumières is perfectly suited for school groups to explore freely, and in total safety, the future of art, within a grand open 2,700 m2 space. The Infinity des Lumières experience is inspirational for everyone - all ages, cultural, linguistic, and education levels, as well as degrees of artistic interest and knowledge. The excitement of experiencing art in a completely new way The response from schools in Dubai and across the UAE has been wonderful, with impressive interest and amazing feedback. We are honoured to continuously welcome diverse school groups, to witness their fascination with Infinity des Lumières, and to hear their enthusiastic impressions.
“The experience of Infinity des Lumières was amazing. I felt like I was reliving the paintings and played a role in them. It inspired me further for my portfolio to look at some of the artists in more detail, and refer to them because of how beautiful all the pieces were. The atmosphere and the setting of the place was perfect for art lovers like us and I really enjoyed the experience. To add on we were given a great overview of Infinity des Lumières by the staff and they were very kind to all of us.” - Katriel Fernandes, Year 12, Cambridge International School, Dubai Our dedicated brochure helps educators prepare themselves and their students for this innovative experience - a dynamic fusion of art and music, architecture and design, state-of-the-art technology and high-tech engineering, with three infinitely imaginative exhibitions - each a unique combination of colour, animation, movement, sound, and rhythm, embodying the infinite beauty of nature. However, the material we provide prior to the visit can’t fully prepare for the real magic of the Infinity des Lumières experience! It is amazing to see how both students and educators react with pure excitement and awe, truly enjoying the impressive space, the exhibitions, the technology, and the opportunity to experience art in a completely new way, with the freedom to explore, discover and feel every moment, every colour, every sound. Creating long lasting connections through innovation and shared experiences School groups are particularly fascinated by the remarkable technology, since Infinity des Lumières has 58 speakers and 130 projectors, transmitting 3,000 moving images on a 3,300m2 projectable surface. They are mesmerized and impressed not only by the power of technology but also by the ingenuity of digital artists, in bringing to life iconic masterpieces, providing completely new perspectives, creating whole new worlds, where art is no longer static and rigidly defined, but wondrously dynamic, vibrant, engaging and multi-sensory. We share with them fun facts, like the number of digital artists and work hours that are required to create an impressive immersive experience. For example, it took a team of 10 digital artists a total of 1,600 working hours to create the 35 minute and 28 second Van Gogh exhibition, with 163 images and 15 music compositions. The Dreamed Japan show []is 11 minutes and 55 seconds long, but is filled with 240 images and 8 music compositions, and it took a team of 10 artists a total of 1,000 working hours to finish. The students are absolutely enchanted and intrigued by contemporary digital artwork, like the 15 minute long Verse exhibition in the Contemporary Room - a fully digital creation, with a special soundtrack, created specifically for Infinity des Lumières, by the very young and talented digital artist, Thomas Vanz, within 1,000 working hours. The show speaks to young audiences in many different ways, eliciting diverse emotional responses and establishing profound connections.
“This experience was truly something to remember, not only immersive but also emotional…it was such an unexpected and new experience and something that feels new no matter how many times you were to go, you can see the amount of work put into the projections, graphics and music all perfectly created to make the best possible experience, truly inspiring to anyone not only art enthusiasts and unlike anything I’ve seen before.” - Devinya CHAMUDINI the walaarachchi year 10, Cambridge International School Inspire, engage and educate young minds We are particularly happy about such positive and rewarding responses, as it is the mission of Infinity des Lumières to make art accessible, understandable and inspiring to everyone; to unite diverse audiences through shared multi-sensory experiences. The lecture delves into very relevant and important topics for the young people of today, such as adapting in a rapidly changing world, through continuous learning, problem solving, and resourcefulness. The students learn about the significance of setting professional challenges, dreaming, visualizing, and achieving goals. The talk is inspiring because it opens up many interesting conversations, with a lot of food for thought about the economic importance of the creative industry, both locally and globally. In fact, students are always eager to ask many questions after the lecture and to engage in a very lively discussion with the Infinity des Lumières team.
